The pot handles need to be improved, it's too hot when trying to lift.Cooking is my favorite pastime. I cook all meals for my family and we also have get togethers often. Fresh ingredients are important to make a lip smacking recipe but right kind of cookware is also equally important. I like to use very good quality pots, pans and knives. This 9.5 quart pot is made with 5 ply stainless steel and ensures even heating. Bottom is very thick which prevents food from sticking to the pot. Stainless steel cookware are the best because they heat quickly and evenly and they clean quick too. This stock pot can be used on all kind of cook tops. The pot and lid handles have silicon lining which prevents handles from heating up. Lid has glass so you can see what's cooking inside. There is a small vent on lid for steam to escape. I have made soups, gravy and several other recipes on this stock pot and its now one of my favorite pots in my kitchen. This ended up being taller than I expected. It would be perfect for boiling seafood, though typically pots in this size have a fitted steamer insert which would make it even better. The glass lid is nicely made and has the red silicone under the handle. I thought it was a design element but then I realized how the handle didn’t get hot like my other glass lidded pots! The silicone on the side handles make it much more comfortable to grip. The pot is heavy and hears evenly. I have only used it on my gas stove so I can’t comment on induction but it seems like it would do well on induction burners. I didn’t think about the handles not being bolted on like my other pot, but that is an area of concern with the pot being so large and heavy. After two uses it’s fine, but what about after 100 uses? Let’s hope still fine. It’s just something I’ve never seen before. Overall, I love this pot.I do have a stewing pot of similar size but nowhere as well made and the lid is not transparent. It is rather inconvenient to lift the lid and check the food repeatedly when I am cooking new things and have not determine how long I need to cook. This pot is made from 316 stainless steel. 316 stainless steel is more corrosive resistant than 304. The price of 316 stainless steel is also higher than the price of 304 stainless steel due to the increase of nickel content and the addition of molybdenum in the alloy. This pot is heavy with most of the weight on the bottom which is good as it makes the pot very stable. Both the handles on the pot and the handle on the lid have red silicone pads which reduces the heat transferred to the metal. This enables less heat on the handles. There would be less of a chance that I burn my hands if I accidentally grab the handles by mistake. The interior of this pot is nicely finished. While it is not mirror finished but it is very smooth. This nice finish is good as smooth finished pots do not stain as easy. The handles on the pot are attached by resistance spot welding, not by rivets. This makes cleaning the interior surface a little easier. However, there are 8 spot welding marks that are visible on the inside. The rim of the lid has a butt gap due to the way it was made. This gap would have the potential of collecting drippings and cruds after a while. Nothing major, just requires a little more care when cleaning.I cleaned this pot and boiled some water. I will make some soap later but for the time being boiling water served dual purposes of cleaning and testing. The bubbles are raising all over the bottom showing that the bottom is heated up quite evenly. So far, I do not see anything wrong with this pot. I will be reporting back after I make some stew or soap. This is a very nicely made pot. Recommended. This pot is big, enough room to cook corn up right. It is fairly heavy, metal is plenty thick, not thin like cheap pots.I boiled a few inches of water in it for my first test, it stayed warm for a few hours.I let my mom use it to cook a few meals, only complaint she had was that the handles were NOT riveted, they are just spot welded. As someone who prides themselves on their annual Christmas candy making adventure, finding good utensils and pots and pans has been expensive. Pots claiming they are heavy bottomed, only to find out that they're not has been frustrating and the adjustments I've had to make over the years to my recipes has lauded a few disasters.A friend of mine turned me onto this pot after she ordered a bigger pot for her stocks, when she said they were definitely heavy bottomed, I had to go for it. I was happy to see they had a smaller one, so I went with the three quart size, I make peanut brittle and the larger pots always was cumbersome.Super, super happy with this pot, they are truly heavy bottomed and I really love that the handle has protective silicone on the inside. As soon as I got it, I boiled a pot of water, just to see how heavy it was really going to be and was thrilled to feel that the handles weren't as hot as the others that I have.Making candy this year is going to be pure joy, I'm so glad I found it and I will be getting the bigger ones in the future. Thank you for actually making heavy bottomed pots!!A perfect pot size to cook for a family of four. It’s easy to clean and best of all it’s durable to sustain any temperatureI didn't like this, but it's still nicely machined, with thick metal. I don't like the dual-material handles, and overall, it felt too square. I like a more humanistic and smooth contours, and a slightly rounder bottom.
