I have been extremely intrigued with "stove top oven" baking. My first purchase was an Omnia oven. I took a deep breath at the price (and it is very pricey, best if you can find them used) and was able to get the oven and a few accessories used. I purchased my own thermometer and put that on the Omnia top, saving a lot of money there as well. Omnia knows that they have been the go-to for these kinds of products and they must be making a TON of money. However, I had several "projects" learning how to use the Omnia, with several batches of brownies getting way too hard on the bottom and in some cases burned. I finally learned to do everything "low and slow" - and I mean a VERY low flame. Everything turned out pretty well from there on in, but projects took a LONG time to bake. Using various mixes from the store, typically it took 1 1/2-2 times as long as in a regular over.I had seen the Tredoni and quickly realized it is the "Wonder Pot", originally from Israel and now made in Italy. I couldn't see how the base could protect the baking projects from burning, but it seemed that all the baking products (cakes, breads, etc.) looked GREAT, without even a hint of burning around the inner circle or anywhere else. That is difficult to avoid on the Omnia, so I had to try one of these and it came today.I am blown away! I took the picture of a carrot cake mix I had from Betty Crocker, and I used the VERY low flame as I do on the Omnia. However, it finished much sooner, and with all the holes in the top, it gave out even more baking aroma while baking. I checked the cake around the time the box said it would be done, and to my shock, it was almost done! I just let it bake for another 20 minutes or so and it was done. When I took it out, as you can see in the picture, there is no hint of burning at all. Incredible. I probably could have left it in another 10 minutes to get even more browning on top, as that is what I like to do for my cakes.YES, the instructions are in Italian, in the little recipe book it comes with. But seriously, there is nothing to know except "low and slow". The recipes do look really good and the book was well made, even though it is in Italian.I really never look at the thermometer on my Omnia when I bake - just the size of the flame which is very very low. I'm sure I will not worry about having a thermometer on this oven.I had to get this review out for those who would like an Omnia oven and can't afford the price. This I would say bakes pastries better than an Omnia does, following the same instructions basically you would find for an Omnia. The only exception that I would not think about keeping any temperature per se, but just look at the flame, and the oven will do the rest.I had gotten the 3L pan for the Omnia so I could do bigger things, and this 11" inch model I got is just as big but bakes things more like a real oven and in less time than the Omnia. For anyone curious about the base of this oven and how well it will fit on an RV stove, the base of the 11" is 9 1/2", so since the other model is 1 1/2 inches smaller in diameter at the top, I am guessing that the base of the smaller one is around 8". This compares to the base of the Omnia oven at just under 9". If someone would like a size most comparable to the Omnia then I would definitely recommend the smaller size. The Omnia silicone insert does fit in the Tradoni, if anyone is concerned about baking in the aluminum.I am thoroughly impressed and also SHOCKED that Tredoni is not better marketed in the US. As soon as they are, I know that many people will want to purchase this INSTEAD of the Omnia. Not only is it half the price, kinder to pastries, but also having the pan with handles on it makes it much easier and therefore MUCH safer to handle when it's hot.VERY NICE PRODUCT, Tradoni! Very happy with this purchase.PS - I had bought one of these "used" several months ago, and it was not shipped properly so the cover had bent slightly and did not fit so I sent it back not knowing what to think of the product. This time I purchased a NEW unit and everything arrived in great shape. Definitely really glad I did.
